179: Quit your job. Get out while you can. | Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991)

Episode Summary

"It was petty cash, YOU were spending petty cash."

Episode Notes

Yes, it's finally here. The day we are talking the 1991 hit and fashion foundational film, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. It's been a long time coming since this is my first official complete watch ( I know I'm ashamed, don't talk to me). Charles tells the story about how this is one of the building blocks of his film education, and for good reason.

I get into why no one told me me there was a c***y version of Mulder and Scully, why Rose Lindsey is best feminist icon, and just how worthless the rest of this family is besides Swell. Also touching on the  scary realities of the corporate world, the feeling when you first discover 'petty cash', and the similarities to 'The Hills'.

Off-topic rants include: office horror stories, Drag Race, my first time viewing of Chinatown, early Project Runway
